The Cobalt Cosmology of Cheng Linyao (Lin Zi)
Brighter than White, Darker than Blue: The Cobalt Cosmology of Cheng Linyao is a landmark solo exhibition curated by ArtFlow Studio, featuring our signed artist Cheng Linyao (Lin Zi) — a distinguished ceramic artist from Jingdezhen and inheritor of the national intangible heritage technique “Fen Shui” blue-and-white porcelain.
Held at Fitzrovia Gallery, London, in August 2025, the exhibition presented a constellation of works that bridge centuries-old craftsmanship with contemporary sculptural and installation-based innovation. Through the nuanced interplay of cobalt blue and pristine white, Cheng Linyao invites audiences into a dialogue between tradition and experimentation, East and West, heritage and reinvention.
As ArtFlow Studio’s contracted artist, Cheng Linyao embodies our mission to connect cultural heritage with global audiences. Her works, ranging from delicately hand-thrown porcelains to bold, architectural ceramic forms, were curated into an immersive environment that revealed the vitality of Jingdezhen ceramics as living forms—far beyond craft, existing as cultural narratives and artistic experiments.
